From the article: "On Tuesday, the USPTO issued a 'Notice of Intent to Issue a Reexam Certificate' to Eolas Technology, the tiny University of California spin-off that received U.S. Patent No. 5,838,906 in 1998."

Eolas filed a 30 page response, which was accompanied by three declarations, two by Professor Edward W. Felten and one by Robert J. Dolan, Dean of the University of Michigan Business School. The litigation continues, with the issue of the Wei browser, both as prior art and as a possible source of a finding of inequitable conduct.
